Situation vacant – Chief Executive, New Zealand Film Commission
Visionary and Strategic Leadership
The New Zealand Film Commission (NZFC) in partnership with the industry has successfully grown and positioned the NZ film industry with domestic audiences and in the global market. The support and funding of a diversity of quality productions of international standards has been attested to by the high regard and awards for NZ films and talent from overseas. Active in support of the development of scripts and talent, and the international and domestic sales and marketing of New Zealand films, NZFC also assists with training and professional development within the industry by partnering with industry organizations.
NZFC seeks a visionary Chief Executive with an excellent strategic appreciation of creative developments, project funding and commercial disciplines to lead the Commission. The ability to manage relationships with filmmakers, the Crown, and media and a passion for, and knowledge, of the cultural media industry, are required to ensure the growth of the film industry within New Zealand and internationally. An ability to effectively work with producers to ensure a momentum of film production is maintained is also important, particularly at a time of international financial uncertainty.
Strong communication skills are essential together with a track record of achieving results through others and implemented vision. Senior executive experience within a cultural, media or entertainment environment will be an advantage as is success in working with, or alongside, a Government body.
