Herceptin Help Welcomed

Veteran writer and NZ Herald film critic Peter Calder has set up a website to raise funds for a 12-month course of Herceptin to treat his wife's breast cancer.
Herceptin has been shown to be effective on the particularly aggressive HER2+ cancer, which is the kind about one in six women get.
Government funding only covers a three-dose (nine-week) course, but there is not, as yet, good research evidence to show that this regimen is as good as the full year, which costs about $72,000.
